Sundays on the Product Hunt are silent(?) BUT...

It is a very tiny observation and maybe I am wrong BUT anyway. Weekends (so far from my research) are not so "successful" when it comes to launching products and upvoting for them. Many people spend their time with families, (when the weather is good โ€“ they are outside), and they are less on LI whereas others usually reach out to people because of upvoting. (Remember, LinkedIn is still a professional platform and people from business are more active there during the weekdays). Tho... it is becoming a Facebook a little bit. ๐Ÿ˜€ Anyway Discussions in the community are quite "alive" because it is not so time and energy-consuming activities as launching products. (E.g. in April: During weekends โ€“ winners have ~400 โ€“ 500 upvotes; During weekdays โ€“ they needed to earn ~1,000 โ€“ 1,200 upvotes) Launching products during the weekend = less competition but harder to reach out to upvoters. Discussions = a great way to create an informal connection by engaging with the community. What is your experience?

Yes! Weekends are less busy on ProductHunt, so it is easier to make PotD on the weekends compared to weekdays if you have an audience that is active during this time (which a lot of makers often are!) The big players want to maximize eyes on their product, so they'll only launch during the busy week days, which makes it much harder to compete but if you succeed you will also get that much more traffic.

@fscholz Chances for succeeding during weekends are higher as there are fewer people to compete with but not so much exposition and fewer opportunities to test the product massively by the audience. What would you choose? Launch during the weekend or weekday?

@busmark_w_nika I'd say it depends on how big of a network you have and how deeply you want to win. If you can't make it to the featured list on the home page, the additional traffic weekday product launches get will not bring you more visitors But if you know you can make it to the top 5 and/or have a viral or easy to try product then by all means chose a competitive day!

@fscholz That's true. Some of my (let's say Twitter friends) have a huge amount of followers and the community around them is strong but their products weren't featured and the overall impact was not such huge as it would have been while featured. But anyway, the community upvoted :)

I have found Saturdays less busy and Sundays comparatively have higher audience than saturday

I agree. I think the "less competition" can be very important. I had launched on a weekday last time but I think about weekend for next time, especially since my product is mainly aimed at consumers. And yes, weekends are great for discussions!

@konrad_sx What will be your next product (or adding features to the existing one?) :)

@busmark_w_nika I will have to work on App Finder for quite some time. I plan several more launches: When we have support for multiple languages, when we have indexed alternative Android app stores (F-Droid Amazon Appstore etc.), when we have an App Finder web app, when we have indexed iOS apps, when we have an API (similar to 42matters and AppBrain) But I also have many other ideas and will probably do something else in between.

Not gonna lie, I'm not the most active on weekends. They are really much needed recharging time in my schedule ๐Ÿ˜‚ I always want to try to be more active on weekends, but I end up doing something else ๐Ÿ˜‚

@minahilkhalid Did you forget to log in? ๐Ÿฅฒ Ouch.
@minahilkhalid I make a Chrome plugin that reminds you if you forget to visit PH on your Chrome. It also has really cool PH analytics: https://upperhunt.com

I think it depends on the goals, if you just need the badge that you became product of the day so of course you need to launch on Saturday and Sunday (by the way Sunday is usually more active day), nut if you need real customers, of course you have to choose Monday or Tuesday. I think even Tuesday or Thursday, because in Monday people are usually busy with their Sprint planning or just working more actively.

Sundays may be quiet on Product Hunt, but "Business Marketing with Nika" seems like a refreshing exception. It's intriguing to see how it stands out, offering insights even on a day typically reserved for rest.
